Operating a laser cutting machine requires precision, safety, and professional guidance. From pre-operation checks and parameter calibration to safe cutting practices and post-operation maintenance, every step plays a vital role in achieving accurate results and prolonging machine life. At NewHope, we not only deliver high-performance laser cutting machines but also provide expert training and support, ensuring our customers maximize productivity while maintaining the highest safety standards.
First, inspect the machine. Ensure the power supply, laser tube, and cooling system are properly connected. Check the worktable for debris and confirm the gas supply (e.g., nitrogen for metals) is stable. Wear protective gear: safety glasses to shield eyes from laser radiation, gloves, and flame-resistant clothing.
Turn on the main power, followed by the laser generator and control panel. Let the cooling system run for 5–10 minutes to stabilize the laser source. Use the machine’s jog function to position the laser head at the origin point of the workpiece, ensuring alignment with the design’s coordinates.
Import your vector design (e.g., in .dxf or .ai format) via software Adjust parameters: laser power (higher for thick materials), cutting speed (slower for precision), and frequency. Test on a scrap piece of the same material to fine-tune settings.
Close the machine’s protective cover to prevent laser leakage. Press the “Start” button. Monitor the process to avoid fires or misalignment. After cutting, wait for the laser head to stop moving before opening the cover.
Turn off the laser generator first, then the cooling system and main power. Remove the finished workpiece and clean the worktable. Store materials and tools properly.
Following these steps ensures efficient, safe use of laser cutting machines for diverse materials. Choosing the right partner for your laser cutting needs goes beyond purchasing equipment—it’s about securing long-term efficiency, reliability, and growth.
